Who we are...

If breast cancer has touched your life, you are well aware of the challenges this diagnosis brings. Emotional swings, physical ups and downs, and the difficulties of balancing treatments with the platform of everyday life can seem endless. At times the overwhelming feeling is one of going around in circles rather than making progress. The care and support of others helps, but this is also an intensely personal battle.

Many women and their families make this dizzying journey; most often they emerge stronger, as skilled and experienced fighters rather than fearful victims. They celebrate victories, great and small; they discover they can cry and laugh at the same time. They take charge of their lives in ways they never expected and go on to impact the lives of others, and never fail to appreciate the gift of another day. In medieval times, Spanish Crusaders prepared for battle through a process called carosella, meaning “little wars.” How appropriate that this group has chosen a variation of the word to identify itself. As a tribute to the private wars faced by breast cancer survivors, we proudly announce the CAREousel Breast Cancer Support Group as our new name.

CAREousel is a support group of breast cancer survivors, co-survivors, and supportive individuals. We come from all backgrounds and walks-of-life and have joined together for one purpose: to help and support those who are struggling with or are effected by breast cancer.
